Dash is from a 2012 Ford Fiesta

Interesting??, the picture of the dash in my last post doesn't appear.
Here's another picture of it

All functions in the center control panel in the dash are used. I'm using the OEM Radio.
HVAC control panel and unit are out of a 2003 Mercedes S class car. Rest of the system is Subaru except for the condenser, thats out of a honda civic. I would have to research the year for the condenser if you need it

Got the HVAC control panel made today.

Center console is done.
This should complete just about all of the wiring for the car

Next is getting the water line tubing and run that from the engine to the radiator
Once that is done I think I can fire the engine up and see if it still runs

I still need to modify the rear storage compartment that I made to fit the new console

Hi Will
Thanks
I've kind of got burnt out on posting, even on the other site. Nobody is doing anything that interests me and I've been told on the other site that my personality doesn't always agree with their way so I see no reason to keep posting.
I continue to make progress, I just don't post as often.

Right now I'm looking to install the water lines from the engine to the radiator. I just need to get past the price they want for aluminum tubing. 1 stick of 2 inch tubing they want $80.
I need 2 sticks and a few fittings. That would put just the materials over $200. For me that's ridiculous.

After I get that done I should be able to get the engine fired up.
I'm having issues with the radio and the power steering, but after looking on the internet I found out that people are having the same issues in the oem cars so I know its not something that I did.

Keep well,
I continue to watch your build also
Brett

That console and assembly look fantastic, Brett. To create something that looks totally integrated and like it was from a fully baked production car is one of the Holy Grails of building a kit car. And you really nailed it with that dash and console.

Thanks for posting. Your personality is always welcome here.

Go plumb stuff. We wanna hear that car run. 🙂🙂

Well I pulled the trigger and got the tubing.

Thought I was getting a fair price on it till I saw what they wanted for shipping. Still ordered it though.

Got these to make mounts from. I liked them because they have rubber cushions to cradle the tubing in.

Ordered them from here

After I got done modifing them they now look like this now. I cut the stalk off and counter sunk a screw in the middle for mounting.

I used rivnuts(rivet nuts) to secure the mounts to.

I drilled a hole and sunk them in

Way to go Brett. You’re getting closer and closer.

Water lines are done However I didn't have enough hose clamps so I need to get 11 of them.

While under the car I notice that I missed wiring in the hot wire for the speed sensor so that needs to get done.

I also need to plumb in the vacuum line for the power brakes. That should get done tomorrow.

I didn’t realize you had a brake booster. Cool. Where did you put it? I had a heck of a time finding a place for mine in my blue car and actually had to do a weird mechanical linkage to a slightly remote location (which I don’t love because it’s possibly an additional failure point.)

Its in the usual spot.
Diameter if it I think was around 7"
It came out of a Geo Metro I believe.

Cooling system
Small tubing is the vacuum line to the booster. I also put a Vacuum reservoir tank in to make sure the booster gets enough vacuum.

Sure enough, you’ve got everything cleverly crammed in there. I give you props.

You’re car should feel nice to drive. I’m excited for when you get it on the road.

Well The coolant system is done along with all of the wiring. Got the speed sensor wired in.

At this point in time I see no reason why the engine can't be fired up. Need to put coolant in it and get some gas.

Mostly cosmetic stuff needs to be done now ( carpet and some fiberglassing)

Grand kids will be arriving soon for a Birthday party thats happening over here so nothing will happen today.

Power steering I know has issues so I need to trouble shoot that and find out why it doesn't work. There's not much to it so I figure it can be only a couple of things. other than that only time will tell what other problems exist

Water lines are done but I had an issue with the line going from the engine to the radiator.

Before I filled the cooling system with antifreeze I thought I'd check to see if there were any clearance issues with the water lines and the rear lower section.
Well there was. I had to reroute the line

Well with that fixed, I now have clearance issues with the water line and the exhaust.
I'm working on that now.

I like everything about your build and it might be just my perception but those taillights just looks too small and out of proportions for that well sculpted rear end design. I personally preferred your previous version better. But beauty is in the eye of a beholder so as long as you like that is all that matters. The best part about kit cars is that you make it exactly the way you like it.

Have you tried flipping them upside-down and swapping sides, this way the edge of the taillights would follow contour of the body. Just a thought.
