I'm surprised your tail lights passed inspection. how did you pull that off? I'm in CA too, but up near SF.

Asking for opinions.
What do you like?

I see what you did with that subtle little brow spoiler. Yeah, I think that’s a nice nuance for your build. I’d say looks nice; keep it. 👍

Traded my 1600cc for a 1915cc. In order to more easily make the exchange I cut the back lower panel. The section I removed will easily reattach.

Nice engine. 👍 I wish I had a fresh new Bug engine for my silver Cimbria (which currently runs on 3 1/2 cylinders.) I’m a little jealous. 🙂

I also like the idea of the cutaway for the engine. Never has it been said that “I wish I had LESS access to my engine.”

Probably obvious but I’ll say it anyway, just make sure you re-establish structural integrity back there. I know you would. And it shouldn’t be hard. But the entire rear quarter of a Sterling is just a cantilevered shell of fiberglass that gets its integrity from its deep three dimensions. Do you think you’ll glass it back in or make flanges (make it detachable) for future work?

Have been experiencing a continuing problem with a leaking hydraulic cylinder. I thought when I had them rebuilt several years ago the problem was solved, but it has been slowly leaking for many months and I have been using baby diapers to collect the fluid and have been able to keep it off the carpet.
So Wednesday morning decided to tackle this problem in the limited space I have in the garage. After closing off the bi-pass valve I was able to disconnect the hose’s from the cylinder and get it out of the car and on the work bench.
Took the end of the cylinder off and inspected the o-rings. I didn’t have the necessary replacements. I remembered where I got the rings three years ago and gave them a call and forwarded the pictures below. He called me back and said come to his shop and he would try to help. An hour up and another back and another while Michael rebuilt the cylinder.
By bedtime I was able to re-install the cylinder and in the morning up and down no leaks.

If you need cylinder help this is the guy to use. Knowledgeable and fast!

Thought that this would be my next project. Have stored this for several years and have decided to let it go to a new home.

Recently Rebuilt center consul using some of the original parts I had made. I found the carpet convenient and practical. The unit is a little taller and longer providing more storage.
