Seat Shell

I was wondering if you used just the shell of a seat, how comfortable would it be.
Not just a flat shell but one that would conform to your body so there would be support in the areas that needed support.

It would give added head room clearance.

Just a thought. I have no plans or desire to build one.

I was thinking of something like this. Looks would vary
It wouldn't be the most comfortable seat but it would give additional head room and more room in the hip area since padding would be eliminated. This would be the extreme limits one could go to get more seating room.
Cost would be low to make since all thats there is a shell.
Just a thought.

In that case why not just use aluminum Kirkey seat or best of the best but much pricier carbon Tillett. Both have minimal padding and are available in any width preferred.

Yes something like that.
Your not going to find a seat with better clearance than this.
And the price is hard to pass on.
This is the lowest profile that I found in their line up. I think 33 inches should work but for someone thinking of trying one of these seats I'd check to make sure.

After looking at it longer a shell that would have curves to follow your back (especially the lower back) might be more comfortable.

But this would be a good option if your needing more head room and butt room.
