Call this crazy, but I have been playing with an idea that was ironically developed from staring at those cheapo roll up curtains. You know the ones Im talking about. Paper thin, you pull them down, and they stay, pull down again to release them back up, and they automatically retract up into a roll.
Well this got me thinking about say a rainy day, i have to stop and get to something, like a pay per parking lot, getting a ticket by the po po, or any real reason that you would have to pop the top and the weather isn't being nice. Abandoning my car due to rain isn't in my agenda.
I had thought about fabricating up something that would fit inside the body, above the rear window. Only a paper thin slot would be needed, and something similar could be made to come out of the body that at least across the very top flat area of the roof line would semi protect the interior from rain. This would then retract back into the body as the top closed.
It could be detachable from within the car for days it wasn't needed, and of course made from a material that would suit the cars looks.
It of course wouldn't be perfect, but I think it would help some to at least kind of keep the driver and passenger dry, not to mention any spendy interior items.
It seems so simple to do. I just wonder of its practical application.
Thoughts?
