Just a heads up for those registering here in Las Vegas.
You have to make an appointment to get into the DMV. No more walk ins
When you make an appointment online, make a couple appointments a few weeks apart. (you can always cancel them)
That way if you don't have everything you need, once you get that stuff, you don't have to make another appointment and wait for another month or more to get back there. It will only be weeks
There was a guy at the counter next to me stating he waited 2 months to get in and he didn't have everything he needed, (he was pissed) so now after he gets what he needs he'll have to make another appointment and wait for another 2 months to get back in. Thats 4 months he's out and not having plates
For me it took about 9 months but I was in no hurry. (Changing the title (even though the car had a Nevada title), getting the car reclassified (from kit to assembled vehicle) and other items that didn't make sense.
Go with an open mind and attitude that it won't happen today, you can't fix stupid.
The teller at my window kind of already had an attitude and I just told her to calm down and we'll get through this with no problems. After she saw that I wasn't going to get mad about anything she was quite nice.
