Well as I was getting moving on the car life decided to take a sharp left and we are now moving. Of course this means the house projects that were on hold are in full swing plus the new house has a good 2 months of full time projects with it. I did manage to put the wheels back on the car so it can be pushed around - progress! (?) *sigh*

I'm smarter than to respond in agreement to this on the outside chance she sees this post.
So the original estimate of 2 months was slightly off and I'm still working on this new house. Back in July we finally got everything moved over and there is a light at the end of the tunnel once I finish up this kitchen. The garage is mostly done just need to get the compressor wired up and the work bench organized. Fortunately the storage is all built and it will just take a weekend of piddling to finish up.
So really this is just another post of nothing getting done.

Having had that 'agreement' with the wife, who only 5 years later said no such thing, buying the town house was all my idea because it had a double garage and I could work on the SS and she "liked the house", now she , "never liked the house". and it was all about the cars. Now the house stands abandoned and we pay 700€ a month for the ground floor flat, 20 yards from her mother, plus 150€ a month for a 'shed' 20 miles away. Get it in writing! *very frustrated*

Long week with a shitty ending yesterday and then today one of the hydraulic lines decided it didn't like being in the fitting so it some how worked it's way out. Loud slam and hydraulic fluid sprayed over everhing in the car and even close by outside.
Fortunately it doesn't look too bad just curious how it let loose. *hmmm*

Just jiggling stuff around the lines can work them loose. That's the one problem with compression fittings - if they aren't set "right", stuff happens. Just glad the car was parked and nobody was inside it!
I'm not 100% sure but after looking at the fitting I believe I actually installed the compression ring upside down which didn't allow for it to fully tighten. The only reason I say this is I was able to slide it back over the line without any effort which you shouldn't be able to do once the fitting is actually on and tight as the end will flare just a bit.
That being said I did reinstall it to get the top up but will have new lines made up with better fittings before I finish the interior. For now I can get the canopy up though to keep working.

Do you intend to leave the lines inside the drivers compartment or will you route them inside the side pods so they are hidden?
I don't believe on most compression fittings there is a difference in the ferrel as far as a right way and wrong way. I say most. Looks to me as you just didn't tighten it down enough. Use pipe dope on the ferrel before you tighten it down, it helps to lubricate between the ferrel and the nut as you tighten.
