McLaren MP4 wiper position while driving

i was chewing through some videos on the latest exotics, and concept cars, and i stumbled on the new McLaren MP4 video on you-tube. (I don't have the link anymore) But I noticed it was a single wiper like ours. It would fold down like a conventional cars wiper, but under intense driving on a wet track it would pause vertically in the middle of the windshield. Now I'm wondering why? Perhaps a editing issue after the wiper failed? Or, would it be better for both passenger AND driver visibility to have the wiper rest in the middle of the windscreen?

Thoughts?

I haven't seen the video, but I have seen photos with the wiper dead center on the screen. I can't make any assessments why this would be an optimal position other than perhaps at high speeds, starting from the "dead zone" at the base of the windshield would cause it to lift off the glass as it started up. That is one thing that does really bug me about our cars, though there is little to be done about it other than lots of Rain-X!

And the problem with Rain-X is once applied, you cannot get the window repaired until it is fully worn off should you get a chip in the glass. My wife found that out.
