Rick, Brett et al,
I have been a member of the Nova International site and saw what happened when someone got upset, so much knowledge was lost as a result. I also joined the Sterling site for a different perspective and new ideas, and there are some great ones here.
Now when it comes to ideas if people stop posting opposing views on new ideas then where the hell are the new ideas going to come from? I actually quite like hearing the different views, even if I sit on the side lines I still learn from everyone perspective and use the ideas that work for me.
I have learnt (only recently being an old dad with young kids) that you can’t tell your kids what to do, they have to make mistakes and figure stuff out for out for themselves. Now I have made more than my fair share of mistakes on my builds, some I admit to, some I keep quiet about. I try to tell my kids stuff but resign myself to the fact they will learn themselves through trial an error.
Yes we have new owners of Nova / Sterlings (after 27 years I count myself as a Veteran), and some have seriously great skills in various areas (I’m still in awe of Brett’s fibreglass workmanship). There are areas of the Nova / Sterling that have never been really developed or sorted to a degree I would like, seats, rear end and wing mirrors fall squarely into that category for me. This is the reason why I read all posts related to these areas with great interest as I know there is no monopoly on good ideas.
Anyway this is kind of a long way of saying please DON’T sign out and stop contributing. You, Brett, Vaughn and everyone else (even me on occasion) have lots to add to the body of knowledge on the Sterling / Nova cars. p.s. I couldn’t post this response to your message as you locked it !
