Heater revisited

This has been posted before but I'm not sure if how to control the heat was brought up.

Basically its a very simple setup.
Use the oil as the heat source. The rest of the system is setup the same way as a coolant system one. Run lines to a heat exchanger with a blower to distribute the hot air.

I suppose you would have to have a check valve in the system so the oil in the lines and in the heat exchanger wont drain back into the engine and over fill it when the engine is shut off.

Any way installing one of these valves would control the heat.

A very interesting idea. Has anyone done a heat transfer analysis? It could be that there isn't enough BTUs in hot oil to heat the inside of a car.

It would take a long time to get the oil up to a temperature that would make any sort of impact. It's been looked at, but never successfully implemented as far as I know.
