Got these and the sending units from Summit (they are bright red and have the bar graphs on the tach and speedo)

Cool! I'm thinking of going digital. Though if I may suggest, you might want to rethink your layout. You will probably want to have the actual speedo to be above the cutout for your steering column. Where it is now it will be behind the wheel rim and your hand. Out of all your gauges, you need to see this one better than the rest, the next two being fuel and temp, maybe oil.

I have not seen to many digital gauges I liked. These look pretty cool. Can you link the sending unit for the speedometer, I'm curious how that works.

My digital set came with a speed sensor that screws into the transmission speedometer spot. It transmitts the pulse signal to the speedometer. I do not know how you guys will do it with a vw. I guess just screw it in the end of the speedometer cable itself.

Just to update my last post alittle

This is part of the email reply I was sent about their kit for the speedo conversion
Brett,

The coupler pieces and speed sensor are part of the VW kit we sell. I do not
have a price on those parts. I'm sure our sales staff has some prices
available.

The sensor is $25.95 so I wouldn't expect more than $30 for the coupler and
sensor.

And if you converted to type 2 cv"s this place has a hall effect sensor

Tach is a little obscured, but it's a small steering wheel so it's all visible. I'll admit though, it is a bit of an odd placement but it works.

Now I just have to figure out what I'm doing for side mirrors, was thinking 80-82 Corvette.
