Hi there! 22 years ago I saw a car that made such an impact on me that I have never really forgotten that moment. The looks, the sound and it's way of being different got my full attention.
I was 25 years old at that time and did not have the financials to buy a car like that. The years were passing by and I became a father 3 times. A year ago my youngest son (12) showed me some photo's of supercars on tiktok and asked me: "Wouldn't you want one dad?"
I answered him:
"Yess, offcourse would like one. But when I was a young man I saw a car that never really left my mind."
He asked me if I could show it to him so I googled it and he was so exited about that car that he asked me if I would ever buy one.
I explained him that a car like that fully restored was way to expensive for me but at the same time I made him a promisse:
"Iff once I have the opportunity to buy one as a project, I will buy it to restore it together with you."
He smiled at me and told me that would be his biggest dream from now on"
I searched on fb, joined Nova/Sterling groups hoping to find one. And yess, sometimes a car came upp for sale but was allready sold or to expensive because I would have to ship it to The Netherlands ($3.000).
Finding one over here is like looking for water in a dessert. But today I found one...a real barnnfind. A car that has never left his place where it was garaged 30 years ago and I bought it!!!
The smile on my son's face was priceless and so will be all the time I will spend restoring that priceless car together with him. But as I said, we have a lot of work to do and we will need your help to make it a succesfull story.
In 2 weeks we will pick her upp, for now I have only these photos to share of what would be junk for some people but for us it is our own Sterling Nova:
