I need to replace the floor pans on both sides. Is there any brand or place better than the rest that you guys deal with??

Plus I'm open to any helpfull hints you have.

Thanks

It seems to be hit and miss with suppliers. Any supplier that says they have "German" pans is lying - almost all the replacement metal comes from Brazil or Taiwan. The Brazillian pans seem to be a little heavier than most and that's a good thing. For stuff like this I usually use CB Performance, but I've heard that ISP West and aircooled.net have decent stuff.

Is there any advantage to getting the quarter panels(other than shipping) and welding them together to the half panels??

Other than lower shipping and initial lower cost, no. If you're used to welding thin materials, than certainly only order what you need. I tend to be anal about replacement stuff; if the rest of the pans are even remotely suspect I replace them (or fab my own from angle iron and plate).

Bought the half pan set from aircooled.net.
They didn't have the quarter pans in stock so they gave me a break on the price for the half pans.

I had it in two days. Now I'm waiting on the spot weld cutter I ordered.

If anyone is interested I can mic the thickness for reference.

Sweet. I've ordered stuff from John at Aircooled before. He knows his stuff pretty well. Good luck with the replacements - a weld cutter is a great idea to have!

Got the spotweld cutter and it took about 30 minutes tops to cut all the spotwelds out.

Its nice to have the right tool for the job

All so got some cleco's to to preassemble it with before everything gets welded back up

Got the floor pans in. Now I need to put the drop section in. The section I had was about a 2" drop. I was thinking of ordering a set from David. He sells a set with a 4" drop. Just wondering how deep everyone else is using. I'm 5'11". I can make my own but after you figure time(welding and Fabrication) and materials the ones David is selling aren't that bad of a price.

Thanks
Brett
