Dies in reverse

I finally got my own sterling! Very excited but first things first. It dies when shifted to reverse. I've been told there is a wire running to the coil that is in the wrong spot but I dont know which. I've seen a diagram mine for whatever reason has 2 green wires and is not like standard diagrams

Unhooking a coil wire has nothing to do with dying in reverse - unless that wire was hooked to the reverse lights and it grounded the coil every time the lights came on. Previous owners do dumb things - I'm not immune either. Try hooking 12+ to the wire you pulled and see if anything lights or moves.
