Creaking like hell when going up/down

What can I do to fix this? I don't think it's anything to do with the screws or anything, so not as simple as some WD40...

Many canopies creak, it's just the way it is. As Brett mentioned, check your arms for parallel and rise/fall speed. See if you can isolate exactly where the noise is coming from - the actual canopy, or the body mounts. My bet is a loose bolt or two and/or the arms aren't parallel to each other and it's causing stress on the lower body mounts. The cavity behind the mount acts as an amplifier and that's why you're hearing the creak.

Agree with the above posts. Maybe post a video with the canopy opening & closing so we can get an idea of what's happening.

As the car is asymmetrical, it wouldn't surprise me that you might need to add some shims under the rams/actuators to make sure that they're level in relation to each other.

A test you can do to see if the hinges are binding is loosen the mounting bolts so the hinges can move a little and then raise and lower the canopy,if the noise goes away you know its the hinges not aligned right

Turns out I'm missing a nut. I think that itself could do the trick.

Just a follow up, there was a nut and washer missing... Made one out of a bronze bearing and replace the bolt, much, much better. Thanks all
