I just checked the perimeter of my windshield and there are no other markings than what's already been posted. Come next month I'll check everyone's windshield who shows up and make notes!

What is the latest news on the Cimbria windshield from Shat-R-Proof or their supplier? Any updates would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Any news on the windshield yet? I have a gentleman who wants to buy two windshields from me but I have told him to wait and see if you can get them made at a lower cost. This was about 3 weeks ago and he's waiting to hear back from me. Thanks.

No, and at this point I feel like I'm just getting the run around. Yours is a sure thing he needs to order from you. If this turns out fine if not oh well.

We need to support you as well. You made the molds and invested your money into them.

I will keep pursing it until they say no, but after three weeks of no news I'm not holding my breath.

Markings on my Windshield might help

I saw that you were looking for markings to help run down the old mold? Here is what was on my windshield:

Shat-R-Proof
Shaded
Safety
Float
R (Registered mark) AA LSG ASI
Dot-52 M19

I hope this is a set of markings that you haven't already collected and that it helps in the rundown of the molds.

p.s. I'm the one looking to buy 2 molds from FUZZ and will most likely buy them as soon as he is ready to make a run on them. Until then, I'm collecting money for a complete rebuild. (I have the money for the windshield already saved, but can hold out for a few months to allow others to get on board. Everything I've read about Fuzz's windshield points to a superior product-- Thanks FUZZ!!*thumbs up*

Yes, the glass is ready. In fact, I had mine installed yesterday, and drove the car today. On another note - and I'm not sure I've told anyone except Rick and Warren - I installed a Vintage Air air conditioning system, soup to nuts, and had it charged up today. It works flawlessly and blows ice cold air. I got the Compact II with Defrost. The parts cost approximately $1,500, and figure at least $230 for a quality bead crimpper for the hoses, which is a necessity to complete the job. If you take the time and do a quality job on every step, you will end up with a perfect system. I highly recommend it, especially on 90+ degree days like today. For the first time today I was "chilling" on a hot summer day driving my car. Oh, that felt good. :) The folks at Vintage Air answered every question I had along the way, which made the entire experience a good one.

Anyway, the windshield is ready. Get in touch with me if you are ready to get one or two.

Here's my e-mail again in case you need it.

No, I have a 2.0 liter Ford from a 1973 Pinto that has been worked over pretty heavily to increase hp. It does pretty well with this light of a car.

Dale,
Any news from Shat-R-Proof, or Plinkerton, or whatever they are called? I just got word that my Cimbria is on the move from Chicago. It might be another month before it gets here, but the windshield is cracked and will need replacing. I'd rather put an extra grand elsewhere in the car, but also don't mind spending it if it's the only thing going (just don't tell my wife!) Yes, it will be more than I paid for the car + shipping!!

I added my car to the member's showcase. As soon as it gets approved, you'll be able to check it out and be able to see the newly installed windshield.

I agree, Very nice car!

Keep her covered up and garaged, and in great shape! Perhaps your son might one day own her and show off your handy work!

Better buy the glass thats available. They have not said no but I seems I have hit a brick wall. I'm getting shuffled from one person to the next. Feels like the big run around. If and when I get any news I will let you all know. Soon or latter they are going to get tired of me and say yes or no.

Pilkington is, indeed, the same company as the glass comes from their UK counterpart. I believe that both Solid Sterling at one time as well as Sterling Sports Cars inquired to Pilkington about the windshields being made here and not much came of it if I remember right.
