Cimbria Body Evolution

I have a pretty good handle on the evolution of the Cimbria body styles. Questions I have though are regarding the SS...specifically the front slits/vents. Were the slits on the upper aft fender area (near the windshield) part of production before or after the lower front side fender vents? Does anyone know approximately when the change was made at Amore? Credit for upper photo goes to kruzer52...from his pre-delivery thread.

Thanks.

Fuzz might be able to answer that, but from the bodies I've seen, the cowl vents disappeared at the same time the nose vents appeared. Only the very early SS bodies had those cowl vents.

I concur from what I have researched on the Cimbria /Eagle SS those vents disappeared with the arrival of the nose vents, where I have my DRLs.

I always wondered where the scuttle vents went to as on the Eagle that would be into the cabin above my feet *hmmm*

The vents on top of the fenders in front of the windshield were before the lower vents in front of the car. My car's body was built in 1983 and it does not have the upper vents. As you know, 1983 was the last full year Amore produced these bodies. They did make two (yes, only 2) in 1984, and I owned one of the two they made in 1984 (have sold it since *very frustrated*). That one also did not have the upper vents in front of the windshield, but did have the lower vents in front of the car. So I can, with 100% certainty, state the upper vents disappeared before the final run of the SS models, which were made with the lower vents only. I hope that helps.

About what I "guessed". Could only use photos of vehicles with the split rear window hatch to use as a reference...but have also read the change to lower profile rear decks did not happen suddenly with the long doors either.

Thanks guys.
