Since the mold for the part can't be made in one piece I need to build the flanges where the 2 parts of the mold will bolt together.
Decided to use this stuff
Slits were made in the necessary the spots so the material will follow the curves of the buck.
And the piece was temporarily attached to the buck with aluminum tape or if needed with Cleco's.
Aluminum tape was used to cover over the slits that were cut
Clay was used to seal the gap between the flange and the buck
Then I used mold release wax to clean up the excess clay that was left behind. It removes the excess clay kind of easy and it gives the area another coat of wax.
Ordered gel coat last week and I finally got a shipping notice. Wont be here till Wednesday. So I'll hold off on spraying the PVA on till that gets here.
