Anyone up for Carlisle? May 20th?

Hey crew - it's been years since I've owned a Sterling and don't even recognize a lot of the current posters. However, I am headed to Carlisle and was wondering if Rick, Warren or anyone else might be there this year. I always like to attend when I can, although I'll be without a kit car again this year. A 6-month old tiny human now takes nearly all my free time. That said, I parked my kit car and bought what is basically a factory produced kit car, use it as my daily driver and will be taking it to the show: http://travelhead.com/cars/delo.jpg

Hope to see some of you there!

Rick, I'm sorry to tell you this but once you have had kids there is no going back! No matter what production car you drive *going for a drive*

:D You bought a Delorean... well... can't say I haven't always wanted one but never had the chance to actually sit in one in person. Guess this would be my chance! I haven't been to the show since they changed the format (and don't have a running car to bring), but I might try to sneak up there. Literally every weekend for me in May has something going on, whether it's a college graduation, wedding or something else. That weekend is no different.. If you're going Saturday, I should be able to get there in the morning for a couple hours, after noon I have to head to my scheduled event!

Hey Rick-

Yeah, that would be cool if you could come up for a few hours. I don't usually stay long either. I make some quick rounds, and head out usually by 3pm. I recall the Volvo crowd coming out in droves, so I'm hoping to find the odd PRV part or two for sale (would like to find headers).

Do you still have the Aquila or the Fire-Aero? I still have the Kelmark, but it gets zero love these days, like IslandMan says - it's all over. :)

I don't make it near your way since my parents moved. Back when they were in PA I used to drive past Downingtown all the time and could have stopped in for a chat and a cruise.

Hey Rick - are you a yea or a nea for this weekend? I just got my pass. I asked where they wanted me to park, and they said "In the french section". WTF? Anyway, if you go on Sat and you want to find me, I'll be sandwiched between 2CV's I guess. Any chance Warren would go? I know he lives in that neck of the woods. Reach me at rick@travelhead.com if you plan to go.

Another year and another Carlisle show I don't make it to. I have always wanted to attend this show with a Sterling but have never made it. By the time I get to one it will be a motorcycle & gun show.

I hope you have good weather this year. Looks like its going to be a HOT one!

Rick (RickJames on here) went with his Delorean (and was placed in the French section.. go figure). I was supposed to have met with him but other family obligations kept me from going. He did email me this morning with an update and, as expected, the kit side is now dead. He said only a couple Cobras, a handful (3) of Valkyrie style and a half dozen Lamborghini kits were there. Which, to be fair, is 5 more Lambo kits than in years past. Speedster group and dune buggy group were well represented as they usually are, but they usually don't want to be lumped with the vintage kits.

I'm glad I had the chance to go to the 2013 show and see and meet some of you guys. It seems the kit car part of the show is over.

Thanks for the photo link!

Looks like a pretty good car show. Even though kit cars are not well represented, still looks like a worth while event to attend.
