  1. Driving review

There are many videos. Some do go into details on how to dial in the suspension using outter and inner splines count.
  2. Driving review

Probably wasn't alot of interest in the adjustment procedure since it is pretty straightforward process, and there are many videos on YouTube. But feedback on ride quality after incremental improvements is of alot of interest.

    Nice. Final major milestone accomplished.

What you said about trailing arms mod makes sense. Glad to here that you got some improvement in the ride quality. Are you still going to raise the ride height or just going to enjoy it the way it is for now?

Easy ride height and camber adjustment was the main reason why I switched to Porsche 944 aluminum trailing arms. It's a direct bolt on to VW chassis. Adjustment is done via eccentric bolt without changing torsion bar preload. And you get Porsche brakes. Also more available shock options since...

That should definitely improve the ride quality. Might want to consider shorter shock for better travel range. Also, some shocks allow for compression and rebound adjustment. That is what I have on my car. Can be adjusted by simply turning a dial located on the side of the shock.

Makes sense. Good luck with your title.

Interesting, I recall talking to few Sterling owners at the car shows, reporting that ride quality is not too bad with stock VW suspension.

In all subaru models the ECU is hard mounted so even if your car has a harsh ride, it should not cause issues with signal integrity. Also many dune buggies as well as all Factory Five 818 kit cars use subaru drivetrain and harnesses with OEM hard mounted ECUs without any issues. So I wouldn't...

Check the relay as well. Did you keep subaru relay or used a custom one?

Yes, all belts, including timing belt were replaced. I even replaced the head gasket just to be on the safe side.

The engine is new old stock. It only had dyno time. I got it from the co-worker for a symbolic fee (paid for the storage unit while he was moving). It was purchased brand new back in 2003, to be used in the airplane application, but it did not fit so it sat in the storage until few years ago...

Installed Holley in-tank fuel pump and mounted the fuel tank. The straps holding the tank were formed from 1" stainless steel banding materials. Now waiting for the fittings to connect fuel lines.

The width at the hinge points is 19". That is the widest point of the seat. The seats are from 2021 Mazda Miata. I removed sliding mechanism and made custom mounting brackets. This allowed me to place the seat practically on the floor pan (buttom cushions is now only 1/2" from the floor pan when...

How durable is that spray bedliner? What brand is it?
  17. Cimbria SS

I am not worried about it, since I will be vacuum filling the coolant, which eliminates possibility of air pockets.

I plan to rout cooling hoses in between upper and lower frame as opposed to over the top frame, but your overall concept is correct. This layout is what is implemented in 100's of Factory Five Racing 818 kit cars that use subaru drivetrain, so hopefully it will not be too bad. Based on my...

Brett, Can you elaborate on the statement about the coolant pipes U turn. I am not sure I fully understand what you mean. Farfegnubbin, At full lock I have about 1" of clearance between tire and the coolant pipe.
