  1. Sterling #130 (aka American V8 ~ Chapter 2)

Maybe modify the hood in that area Add a blister or an extractor vent in that area. Make the vent functional. That would help getting the air out from the radiator

What group size battery is that. Maybe there's a lower profile battery that will fit I made a tray that sits on the outside edge of that notch to get more clearance for my battery. I'll post a picture of it later today. You might want to go that route and not cut anything out.
  3. How Many got finished

Just curious Out of all the Sterlings sold I wonder how many got finished and made it to the road. I know there's no way of knowing but from my time on this forum, the percentage of cars not being finished seems to be pretty high.
  4. Before and After

Looks good Roger Nice to see at least a few of these cars make it back on the road.
  5. NRG GT Seat

I don't think there is a "best" seat. No matter what seat you choose to go with, it will require some kind of modification to fit. (unless its the oem seat) I don't know what seat dimensions will work in a Cimbria. I did try the Miata seats in my sterling and didn't care for them. The Corvette...
  6. Sterling #S009

Yup, that's one of those topics that falls under the same category as politics and religion. People have their own point of view on the topic and there's nothing you can say or do that will change their point of view. Thats ok. I also understand if they want to keep it that era correct. I'm...
  7. NRG GT Seat

One thing I learned here is everyone has an opinion about something and when it comes to finding seats that fit, I don't recall anyone saying "yes these fit" (Edit: oops! I take that back. In my early stages of the build I was told that a certain seat will fit. After purchasing them.. guess...

    Thank You

Thats a nice thing about having OBDII, you catch an issue before it does any damage. Without having it I'm positive I would of had an overheating issue. Then the damage is done and your stranded.
  10. Sterling #S009

Finally found the problem. Bad connection at the ECM. Nice to finally turn the ignition on and the engine light isn't on. Had pending and fault codes for the cooling fan. I can do a scan now and no codes appear. (for anything) Now if it just stays that way
  11. Seat tracks

Just a quick opinion on seat tracks I installed these on my seats and here's what I found out. After some time I found that I had very little use for them. So once I settled on a position I removed them and bolted the seats in one spot. in the process I gained a little more head room which was...
  12. NRG GT Seat

Update Thought I'd finish this post. Never went any further with this project. Once I got to this point, I figured that even after I make a mold and make the seat work, it will never be as nice as the corvette seats, so I stuck with the corvette seats and this project ended up in the garbage...
  13. Sterling #S009

Yes I'm happy with the performance of the unit.
  14. Sterling #S009

AC is back up and running outside temp 80*f
  15. Sterling #S009

Found the leak. seal at a connection bad. Replaced the o-ring and it seems to be holding a vacuum now.
  16. Sterling #S009

OK what am I doing now?? Well the AC system has a very very very slow leak. Trying to find that. Still haven't been to the DMV to get plates. Had an issue with the cooling fan not turning on but traced it to the low freon level in the AC system. Thought at first it was a bad pressure switch in...
  17. MB Sterling

From my experience Don't throw away anything. If you still have it after the build and you haven't sold it with the old shell, only then toss it if you have no need for it and its just taking up space.
  18. Sterling #S009

I think I should rephrase that. The chassis wasn't designed for that size rim/tire, offset combo. I think the OEM rim/tire size was around 5-1/2 X 15 with a 1.575 offset. Also a lot of mods that are done may look good, but sometimes the build never divulges what it took or the negative side...
  19. Sterling #S009

Thats the chances you take when you install non OEM equipment. If I would have caught that in the early stages of the build it would have been an easy fix, but now for me its not so easy. Its only when the steering is maxed out in the left turn that it happens so I just don't max it out. Rims...
