YES! Bret I love seeing the project reaching the finish line yet I'm torn because I loved all the outside of the box parts of this build which are done. Well done!

I was too until I realized that if my car was painted I would lose a lot of space to set stuff. :ROFLMAO:

Eastwood has a $7 chart you can buy that gives you some paint chips for a sample. There are plenty of other darker blue color so for the sake of shipping times I would wait to make sure another doesn't fit the color you want better. Nothing worse than spraying the color you are already questioning.

Where did you end up getting the paint from Brett?
  5. Sterling #130 (aka American V8 ~ Chapter 2)

Problems aside I would take today as a win! Love the progress and can't wait to I hear the updates on what's fixed next.
  6. Pog's Sterling (CCC293)

Long summer with little work on the car. I did get the gauges wired and into the car today. Need to get the oil temp sensor mounted but really happy with them. The colors in the picture don't even come close to the pure white they are - I can't recommend them enough and already saving for the...

What canopy gasket did you use - the one from the group buy a few years ago? Are your guides on the left and right lined up and sliding smoothly? Curious if you have any hot days up there and just left the car out if it would help warp/ settle the canopy to close the gaps.

And you were complaining about your increase in insurance rates?! :ROFLMAO:

Sanding block and long strokes is what I did when I was testing the look out. Subtle and effective. Good luck!

I am not a fan of the T trim or the glassed together options. I actually rounded the edges of each of the panel edge seams. My thinking was 1) wouldn't be as likely to chip and 2) looks a bit more like a factory car. I may be the only one that agrees with this thought though.

Leaks are part of the car no matter what engine. Love seeing the progress - can't wait for the next update.
  12. Lifting struts for Louvers/Hood

I dug back through my ebay purchases as I loved the hinge design :)
  13. Lifting struts for Louvers/Hood

I can only answer for the rear louvers - gas tank fuel cap hinge from a 94-00 Saab 9-3. A great solution for it if you plan on keeping the louvers.

If you still are using the gas door hinges there's not an easy way to hide those either. Just was an idea that would solve a few issues relatively easily.

I actually thought about this the other day Brett. I like the louvres but at the same time don't want to be stuck with big hinge holes if I want to remove it later. My solution was to do a spoiler/ rear visor that uses the hinges as mounts to give me options down the road.
  16. Pog's Sterling (CCC293)

So first reason I stayed with it was that was one of the 2 the car already had and I just assumed. While a head temp gauge was seemingly recommended to prevent burning up valves, in my mind knowing that the oil temp is where it should be on an aircooled engine was important so I stuck with that...
  17. Pog's Sterling (CCC293)

First of 5 gauges arrived. Hopefully will be able to pull the pod this week and get them in. Different look from the SW gauges but I think the brushed rings will help the rather bland interior out. Not to mention working guages will be nice!
  18. Sterling #S009

Awesome! I just caught up on your thread on Euronova earlier today. Huge accomplishment with tons of annoying hurdles!
  19. Pog's Sterling (CCC293)

Decided to replace the gauges vs work with the SW ones that came with the car. Going to go ahead and get the oil temp and fuel gauge from Speedhut. Great gauges with lots of options.
  20. Engine cover "pins"?

Thanks Brett. Hoping to find something smaller since the engine cover is so small. A good option though!
